Quick answer
For most Star Wars Unlimited players, a dedicated game mat like the STAR WARS™: UNLIMITEDGAME MAT offers the right balance of protection and play surface for the A Lawless Time set.
Why a game mat matters for A Lawless Time
The A Lawless Time set introduces new mechanics and strategies, making a clear, consistent play surface more important than ever. A mat protects your cards from table grime and reduces slippage during intense matches.
Trade-offs to consider
Not all mats are the same size. A standard mat fits most tabletops, but if you play in a tournament setting with limited space, a larger XL mat might be overkill. Also, thicker mats offer more cushioning but can be harder to roll up tightly for travel.
Decision rules
- Choose a standard mat if: You play mostly at home or on standard-sized tables and want a portable, easy-to-store option.
- Choose a thicker mat if: You frequently play on rough surfaces or want extra card protection during travel.
- Consider an XL mat if: You have a large play area or need room for multiple players and extra card zones.
