Quick answer
The Add-On Kit Hairpin lets you add a tight 180-degree turn to any Roadworks track. Assemble it with the BoneLock connectors, then connect it to your existing layout for more challenging races.
Why add a hairpin turn?
A hairpin turn forces drivers to slow down and drift, making races more strategic. The Add-On Kit Hairpin creates a sharp U-turn that fits into most track layouts without requiring extra space.
Compatibility note
This kit is designed for the Roadworks system. It works with other Roadworks track pieces and add-on kits, but not with other toy track brands. You need a base track set (sold separately) to use this expansion.
How to install the Add-On Kit Hairpin
- 1. Unpack and inspect: Open the box and lay out all pieces. The kit includes the hairpin track section and BoneLock connectors. Check for any damage before assembly. Do not force connectors if they don't fit; they should click easily.
- 2. Attach the BoneLock connectors: Snap the connectors onto the ends of the hairpin section. Each connector has a tab that locks into the track's groove. Press firmly until you hear a click. If the connector is loose, it may not hold during high-speed runs. Re-seat it and try again.
- 3. Connect to your existing track: Align the hairpin section with the open ends of your track layout. Push the connectors into the receiving ends until they lock. The hairpin should form a tight U-turn. Make sure the track is on a flat surface. A bump can cause cars to fly off the hairpin.
- 4. Test the connection: Run a car through the hairpin at slow speed first. Check that the track stays connected and the car follows the curve without derailing. If the car derails, check the connector alignment and the track surface. Adjust as needed.
- 5. Adjust for epic drifts: For the best drifting effect, place the hairpin on a smooth, hard floor. The sharp turn and high-speed cars create dramatic slides. Experiment with different approach speeds. Carpet can slow cars too much for a good drift. Try a hard surface for the full effect.
