Quick answer
The Altitude Large Expandable Laptop Backpack is a roomy, eco-conscious choice for professionals who carry a laptop and need extra space for a weekend trip or daily gear. Its expandable design and durable materials make it a versatile workhorse.
Expandable capacity for changing needs
This backpack offers 30 liters of space that expands to 36 liters—a 20% boost—by unzipping the expansion panel. That extra room can hold a change of clothes, a lunch bag, or extra documents without making the bag bulky when not in use.
The expansion is easy to use and doesn't compromise the backpack's sleek profile when zipped shut. It's a practical feature for commuters who occasionally need to carry more than usual.
Eco-friendly materials without sacrificing durability
The Altitude backpack is made with high-density ballistic ECOFAB™ material, which is tough and environmentally conscious. This fabric resists abrasions and daily wear, so the bag holds up well over time.
If you prioritize sustainability in your gear choices, this backpack offers a responsible option without sacrificing the ruggedness required for daily use.
Who should consider another backpack?
If you need a backpack that fits under an airline seat as a personal item, the expanded 36L size may be too large for some budget carriers. Also, if you prefer a sleek, non-expandable design for a more streamlined look, this might feel slightly bulkier when fully packed.
For those who carry heavy loads regularly, ensure the padded shoulder straps and back panel provide enough comfort—though the bag is designed for daily commuting, it may not suit ultralight packing needs.
Decision rules for the Altitude Large Expandable Laptop Backpack
- Need extra space occasionally: If you often carry a laptop plus a change of clothes or extra gear for overnight trips, the expandable 30-36L design saves you from buying a separate travel bag.
- Prioritize eco-friendly materials: The high-density ballistic ECOFAB™ material is both tough and sustainable, making this a responsible choice for daily use.
- Check airline personal item rules: When expanded to 36L, the backpack may exceed size limits for some budget airlines' personal item allowance. Measure your airline's restrictions before relying on it as a personal item. Consider using the unexpanded 30L mode for flights with strict size limits.
