Annabelle vs Malthus: Which Conjuring Figure to Add?

Quick answer

Choose Annabelle if you prefer a clothed, display-oriented piece with interchangeable heads; choose Malthus if you want a highly articulated demon figure with intricate sculpting and a larger scale.

Scale and articulation differences

Annabelle stands 8 inches tall with a soft goods dress and is fully poseable, but her clothing limits some dynamic posing. Malthus is over 7 inches tall with full articulation and no fabric obstructions, allowing more aggressive stances.

If you value a classic horror doll look with fabric details, Annabelle delivers. If you want a demonic entity that can strike menacing poses, Malthus is the better choice.

Display and packaging variations

Annabelle comes in window box packaging that resembles her protective display case, making it ideal for in-box collectors. Malthus uses standard NECA Ultimate packaging, which is collector-friendly but not themed.

Out-of-box collectors should note Annabelle's warning label: 'Out of box collectors beware!' suggests delicate parts. Malthus is built for handling and reposing.

Trade-offs at a glance

• Display style: Annabelle offers a clothed, diorama-ready look with a themed package; Malthus has a sculpted, monster-focused aesthetic.
• Articulation and posing: Malthus has full articulation without fabric restrictions; Annabelle is poseable but the dress limits range. For action poses, choose Malthus. For static display, Annabelle works well.
• Interchangeable parts: Annabelle includes two heads (standard and cracked); Malthus does not list interchangeable heads in its specs. If you value multiple display options, Annabelle gives you more variety out of the box.
