Quick answer
The CRKD ATOM is a mini keychain controller that works with Nintendo Switch, PC/Mac, mobile/tablet, and Smart TV gaming, making it a versatile on-the-go companion for casual gamers and collectors alike.
What makes the ATOM different from a standard controller?
The ATOM is designed as a collectible keychain first, controller second. It's much smaller than a full-size gamepad, so you won't get the same ergonomic grip or trigger travel. That trade-off is intentional: it fits in your pocket and doubles as a display piece. If you need a primary controller for long sessions, a standard model will be more comfortable. For quick pick-up-and-play or travel, the ATOM excels.
Battery life and charging
The ATOM uses a built-in rechargeable battery. A full charge gives you several hours of playtime, enough for casual sessions on a commute or trip. Charging is done via USB-C, which is convenient since most modern devices use the same cable. There is no replaceable battery, so when it eventually wears out, the controller is not serviceable by the user. For a keychain item that is used intermittently, this is a reasonable compromise.
Frequently asked questions
Which devices work with the ATOM?
It works with Nintendo Switch, PC/Mac, mobile/tablet (via Bluetooth or USB-C), and Smart TV gaming platforms. No special adapter is needed for most devices.
How do I pair the ATOM for the first time?
Put the controller into pairing mode by holding the pairing button (usually on the back) until the LED blinks. Then select 'ATOM' in your device's Bluetooth menu. For Nintendo Switch, go to Controllers > Change Grip/Order. Keep the manual handy for the exact button sequence, as the keychain size makes the buttons small.
Can I use the ATOM as a keychain while gaming?
Yes, the keychain ring stays attached, but it may dangle and get in the way during active play. For a cleaner grip, you can remove the ring or tuck it into your palm.
Is the ATOM suitable for competitive or fast-paced games?
It works for most casual games, but the small size and short thumbsticks make precise inputs harder. For competitive shooters or platformers, a full-size controller gives better control. Use the ATOM for turn-based RPGs, puzzle games, or retro-style arcade titles where quick reactions are less critical.
Does the ATOM come in different colors?
Yes, it is available in multiple color options. Check the product page for current choices. Each color variant has the same features.
