Quick answer
The BASICS Vehemous Acolyte is a solid entry-point figure for fantasy collectors who want a menacing cultist look at a lower price, but it strips down accessories and paint detail compared to standard Vitruvian H.A.C.K.S. releases.
What the BASICS line changes
The BASICS series simplifies the standard Vitruvian H.A.C.K.S. formula—fewer extras, a simpler paint scheme, and a lower price. The Vehemous Acolyte keeps the core articulation and fantasy aesthetic but omits extra hands, weapons, or alternate heads that often come with full-release figures. If you prioritize playability and army-building over display variety, this trade-off works in your favor.
Where the Vehemous Acolyte fits in a collection
This figure represents a dark cultist or acolyte role in the ongoing fantasy conflict described in the Vitruvian H.A.C.K.S. lore. It pairs naturally with knights, elves, or orc conquerors from the same line. The simpler deco means it blends into group scenes without clashing with more detailed characters. However, if you need a named hero or a figure with distinct faction markings, the BASICS version may feel too generic.
Decision rules for the BASICS Vehemous Acolyte
- Budget vs. detail: If your priority is keeping costs low while adding a fantasy antagonist to your shelf, the BASICS price is the main draw. If you value intricate paint and extra gear, save for a full-release figure.
- Army-building potential: The simplified design and lower cost make this figure ideal for multiples. You can create a cultist squad without repeating expensive accessories you won't use. Consider buying 2–3 for a unified group display.
- Articulation and poseability: The BASICS Vehemous Acolyte retains the same joint count as standard Vitruvian H.A.C.K.S. figures. You lose paint and extras, not pose options.
- Lore and role: The figure fits the ongoing fantasy war setting described in the catalog—acolytes serve darker forces. If you build narrative displays, this figure fills a henchman or ritualist role. Pair with a hero figure for a conflict scene.
