Quick answer
The Blockbuster VHS Mini Switch Game Case is a nostalgia-first storage case for Switch cartridges, officially licensed and sized to hold up to 12 games plus 4 memory cards. Buy it if you want a display-worthy retro game case for your shelf; skip it if you need rugged travel protection or space for a large collection.
What the Blockbuster license actually gets you
The officially licensed Blockbuster branding is the main reason this case exists. It is a miniaturized VHS-style shell aimed at people who remember rental nights, not a generic plastic game box with a sticker on it. That matters because the look is the product: if the Blockbuster logo and tape-spine shape do not appeal to you, a plain Switch cartridge storage case will usually cost less and take up less shelf space.
The trade-off is that licensing and styling add cost. The catalog price is USD 18.60 against a comparison price of USD 26.57, so the nostalgia premium is real but currently discounted. Treat the case as a display piece first and a storage accessory second.
Where this retro game case fits and where it does not
This is a shelf case. It suits a bedroom, game room, or desk where you want your Switch cartridges visible and organized in a retro game case that starts conversations. It is less suited to being thrown loose into a backpack with a laptop and water bottle, because the catalog does not describe rugged, water-resistant, or drop-tested construction. If you need a case that survives daily commuting, look for a hard-shell travel case instead.
It also is not a whole-collection solution. Twelve games is a curated rotation, not a library. If you own dozens of cartridges, this works as a display for favorites rather than as your only Switch cartridge storage case.
Blockbuster VHS Mini Switch Game Case FAQ
How many Switch games does it hold?
Up to 12 Switch game cartridges. There is also additional room for 4 memory cards. That is the full stated capacity, so do not expect extra slots for accessories or a dock. Count your current rotation before buying; if it is over 12, this is a display case, not your main storage.
Is it an official Blockbuster product?
Yes. The catalog lists it as an officially licensed Blockbuster product, which is why it carries the logo and VHS styling rather than generic retro graphics.
Does it protect games for travel?
The catalog describes a miniaturized VHS-style case with game and memory card storage, but does not list rugged, waterproof, or drop-tested features. Treat it as shelf storage and light transport, not as a hard travel case. For daily commuting, pair it with a padded bag or choose a dedicated hard-shell case.
Who is this mini VHS game case for?
It fits collectors and 80s/90s nostalgia fans who want a retro game case on display and keep a small, rotating set of Switch games. It is not aimed at players who need maximum capacity or heavy-duty protection.
Is the price reasonable?
The catalog price is USD 18.60, compared with a comparison price of USD 26.57. That is mid-range for a licensed novelty case; you are paying for the Blockbuster look as much as the plastic. Decide whether the display value is worth it to you before checkout; if not, a plain case will do the same storage job for less.
What should I check before ordering?
Confirm you are comfortable with a 12-game limit, that you want a VHS-style display piece rather than a pocketable case, and that the current listed price still reflects the discount shown in the catalog.
