Quick answer

For a budget-friendly entry into the Black Market series, choose BM Digital. For a rare, premium collector's piece with neon edge printing, go with BM Mainframe.

What makes each deck special

Both decks belong to Thirdway Industries' Black Market Series, telling the story of a libertarian, secret trade company. BM Digital draws inspiration from the 2000s Internet and uses high-quality pure silver metallic ink plus green neon ink (UV reactive) on cards, box, and back. Transparent UV details only appear under blacklight, adding a hidden layer.

BM Mainframe is an experimental, limited edition of BM Digital. It features neon green edge printing done in Italy, a custom tuck box made by Boschiero&Newton with letterpress and green neon foil inside and out, and a high-end German metallic dark blue paper. Each deck is sealed, numbered, and limited to around 350 decks.

Availability and rarity

BM Digital is a standard production deck, making it easier to find and more affordable. BM Mainframe is strictly limited to approximately 350 sealed and numbered decks, which significantly increases its collectible value and price.

Trade-offs at a glance

  • Price vs. Rarity: BM Digital costs roughly USD 18.25 (catalog comparison USD 25.00), making it accessible. BM Mainframe is priced at USD 175.00 (catalog comparison USD 250.00) and limited to ~350 decks, making it a premium collectible.
  • Features vs. Exclusivity: BM Digital offers UV-reactive ink and silver metallic details. BM Mainframe adds neon edge printing, a custom letterpress box with foil, and numbered sealing, but lacks the transparent UV details of BM Digital. If hidden UV art matters more than edge printing, BM Digital is the better choice.
  • Production vs. Limited Edition: BM Digital is a standard release, easier to replace or acquire. BM Mainframe is a numbered, limited run, which means higher long-term collectible value but harder to find.
