Quick answer
Buy the Code Black Coffee x Trio Bundle if you want to compare three 250g espresso blends—3056, Ex-Wife, and a seasonal release—without committing to a full bag of each. Skip it if you already know your favorite blend or need a grinder-friendly wholebean only.
Three blends, one box: the real trade-off
The Trio Bundle gives you three 250g bags instead of one large bag. That's useful for tasting side by side, but it also means you'll open three bags around the same time. Espresso blends age fastest after opening, so plan to drink or share them within a few weeks.
Because the bundle includes a seasonal blend, the exact third coffee can change. If you're buying for someone who dislikes surprises, check the current seasonal listing before you order.
Wholebean or ground: pick once, not twice
The bundle lets you choose wholebean or ground. Choose wholebean if you have a burr grinder and pull espresso at home—you'll keep more aroma and can dial in per bag. Choose ground only if you're giving the bundle to someone without a grinder, and accept that pre-ground coffee stales faster once opened.
Decision rules for the Trio Bundle
- You're new to Code Black Coffee: Choose the Trio Bundle over a single 250g bag. Three blends let you find your preference before committing to a larger format. Note which blend you finish first—that's your next full bag.
- You already have a favorite blend: Skip the bundle and buy that blend directly. The bundle adds two coffees you didn't ask for and shortens the window to drink each at its best.
- It's a gift: Pick wholebean only if the recipient has a grinder. Otherwise choose ground and tell them to store the bags sealed and cool. Ask about the grinder before you select wholebean or ground.
- You want a decaf option: The Trio Bundle is not a decaf-and-regular bundle—all three bags are espresso blends. If you need decaf, look at Code Black Coffee's decaf range instead.
