Quick answer
The Cryptkins Unleashed Nessie vinyl figure is a 5-inch core character with an all-new pose, making it a solid pick if you enjoy the original Cryptkins line or want a playful lake-monster collectible. It's not a blind-box surprise, so you know exactly what you're getting.
Why the new pose matters
Unlike the original Cryptkins release, the Unleashed series gives each core character a refreshed pose. For Nessie, that means a more dynamic stance that shows off the sculpted details. If you already own the first-wave Nessie, the pose difference gives you a reason to double up without feeling like a repeat.
Size and display considerations
At 5 inches tall, Nessie fits neatly on a shelf or desk without dominating the space. The vinyl construction is lightweight but sturdy enough for regular handling. Keep in mind that the figure's long neck and tail can be slightly more delicate than blockier characters like Bigfoot, so take care during shipping or if you move it often.
How Nessie fits into the full collection
Nessie is one of seven core 5-inch vinyl figures in the Cryptkins Unleashed series, alongside Bigfoot, Chupacabra, Cthulhu, Mothman, Unicorn, and Bob. If you're aiming for a complete set, Nessie is a must-have. The series also includes Cerberus and other variants, so you can expand beyond the core seven if you want a larger display.
Decision rules for buying Nessie
- Buy if you want a specific character: Nessie is not a blind-box mystery. You purchase the figure you see, so there's no gambling on which cryptid you'll get. This is ideal if you only want the lake monster and don't care about the rest of the set.
- Buy if you're completing the core set: The Unleashed series has seven core figures. Nessie is one of them. If you already have a few and want the whole lineup, add Nessie to avoid hunting for it later. Check which core figures you already own before ordering.
- Skip if you prefer smaller or cheaper collectibles: At 5 inches and around $10, Nessie is a mid-sized vinyl figure. If your budget or shelf space is tight, consider whether you truly want a figure of this size or if a smaller accessory would suit you better.
- Consider the pose if you're a repeat buyer: If you already have the original Cryptkins Nessie, the new pose is the main differentiator. Compare photos of both versions to decide if the refreshed look is worth the purchase. Look up images of the original and Unleashed poses side by side.
