Quick answer

The Super Friends Expansion Pack is a 13-card set of Super Friends Super Heroes that works with any DC Deck-Building Game base set. If you already own a base set and want more hero variety, it's a straightforward pickup; if you're starting from zero, buy a base set first.

Why the Kickstarter-exclusive label matters for availability

This pack was funded on Kickstarter in October 2024 and released in September 2025, and the exclusive label means it wasn't part of the standard retail lineup. That affects how you buy it more than how you play it: copies can be harder to find later, so availability is the main reason to decide sooner rather than later. The cards themselves are ordinary DC Deck-Building cards once they're in your hands.

Where this pack fits in a collection

Thirteen Super Heroes is a small addition compared with a full expansion, so treat it as a variety booster rather than a new way to play. It won't add new card types, scenarios, or rules layers; it changes which heroes you can choose from. If you want more hero options without learning a new system, that's a good fit. If you're looking for a big mechanical shake-up, this pack alone won't deliver it.

Super Friends Expansion FAQ

What's in the Super Friends Expansion Pack?

The pack contains 13 Super Friends Super Heroes, designed to be added to a DC Deck-Building Game base set. It comes inside a box, but the supplied catalog doesn't list any other components, so don't expect extra rulebooks or tokens beyond what's described.

Is it compatible with my DC Deck-Building base set?

Yes. The pack is made to work with any DC Deck-Building Game base set, so you don't need a specific edition or earlier expansion to use it. It's an addition to the base game, not a standalone product. Check that you own a base set before ordering; the pack won't play on its own.

How do I add the Super Friends cards to my game?

Shuffle the 13 Super Hero cards into the Super Hero deck from your base set before play, then set up as usual. Because they're heroes rather than a separate mode, no rule changes are needed; the pack simply widens the pool of heroes players can draft or choose from.

Can I mix it with other DC Deck-Building expansions?

The supplied information only confirms compatibility with base sets, not with every expansion. If you already run other expansions, test the pack in a normal game first rather than assuming every combination is officially supported.

Is the Kickstarter-exclusive version different from a retail copy?

The catalog identifies this as the Kickstarter Exclusive version, funded in October 2024 and released in September 2025. No alternate retail version or content differences are listed, so treat this listing as the version to buy if you want the pack.

Who should skip it?

Skip it if you don't own a DC Deck-Building base set, or if you're looking for a large expansion with new mechanics. Thirteen hero cards add variety, not a new game mode.
