Quick answer

Yes, the Dino Pendant from Jellystone Designs is an excellent toddler chew toy. It is made from food-grade silicone, recommended by occupational therapists, and designed to help children self-regulate during big emotions.

What makes the Dino Pendant safe for toddlers?

The Dino Pendant is made from BPA-free, 100% non-toxic food-grade silicone. This material is free from harmful chemicals and soft enough for toddlers to chew without damaging their teeth or gums. The pendant is attached to a breakaway safety clasp that releases under pressure, reducing choking risk.

How does the Dino Pendant help with sensory needs?

Occupational therapists often recommend chew pendants like the Dino Pendant to help children with sensory processing difficulties. Chewing provides proprioceptive input to the jaw, which can be calming and organizing for the nervous system. The Dino Pendant gives toddlers a safe, discreet way to self-soothe without chewing on fingers, clothing, or other unsafe objects.

Is the Dino Pendant suitable for teething?

While the Dino Pendant is designed for chewing and can provide relief during teething, it is not a teether in the traditional sense. It is intended for children who have a strong need to chew, not just for sore gums. If your toddler is primarily teething, you might consider a purpose-built teether. However, for toddlers who continue to chew after teething, the Dino Pendant is a great option.
