Quick Answer
The Dome Gen 2 Air Duct Grill improves cooking by directing a controlled flow of air into the wood-burning side of your oven, which helps maintain a clean, efficient fire and even heat distribution.
Why Airflow Matters for Wood-Fired Cooking
In a wood-burning oven, the fire needs a steady supply of oxygen to burn hot and clean. Without proper airflow, you get smoky, uneven heat that can ruin your pizza or roast. The Air Duct Grill is designed to solve that by channeling air precisely where it's needed.
When You Might Need a Replacement
This part comes standard with the Dome Gen 2 and Dome XL ovens. You should only purchase a spare if the original is lost or damaged. It's not an upgrade or performance mod—it's a replacement part that restores the oven's intended airflow.
Frequently Asked Questions
What does the Dome Gen 2 Air Duct Grill do?
It directs outdoor air into the wood-burning side of the oven to feed the fire. This helps the fire burn hotter and more efficiently, which translates to better cooking results—crispier crusts, faster cook times, and less smoke.
Does it improve cooking performance compared to not having one?
Yes, because without the grill, airflow is restricted and the fire may smolder. The grill restores the intended air path, so you get the same performance the oven was designed to deliver. It's not an upgrade—it's essential for proper function.
Is the Air Duct Grill easy to install?
Installation is straightforward: it sits in place on the right side of the oven. No tools are required. Always refer to your product manual to confirm it's the correct part for your model. Check your manual first to ensure compatibility with your Dome Gen 2 or Dome XL.
