Quick answer
To refill an Ever Bottle Pump without spills, dilute one cleaning concentrate with water in a separate jug first, then pour it through a funnel into the bottle. Fill only to the shoulder, not the neck. Prime the pump over the sink before you put the bottle back in its spot.
What you need before you start
Gather your empty Ever Bottle Pump, one refill pouch, a clean jug or measuring cup, a small funnel, and a cloth. The Ever Bottle Pump is a 500ml aluminum bottle designed to work with Kinfill refill pouches, including Body Wash, Hand Wash, Dish Soap, Laundry Detergent, and Floor Cleaner. Because the bottle holds 500ml, a single concentrate that makes 500ml of cleaner fills it exactly once. If you are using the Glass & Mirror Cleaner Refill, one concentrate results in 500ml of cleaner, so you can mix and pour in one go.

How to dilute the concentrate correctly
Never pour concentrate straight into the bottle. Check the refill pouch for its dilution ratio and add the concentrate to your jug first, then top up with water to the required volume. Mix gently; shaking a jug is fine, but shaking a full bottle with the pump removed can send liquid out of the neck. If your tap water is very hard, use filtered water to avoid cloudiness in glass and mirror cleaners.
Fill the bottle without overfilling
Set the bottle on a flat surface and place the funnel in the neck. Pour slowly until the liquid reaches the shoulder of the bottle, leaving about 2cm of air below the threads. That air gap lets you insert the pump without displacing liquid over the rim. If foam builds up, stop and wait a minute before continuing. Wipe the neck with a cloth before you refit the pump.
Prime the pump and check for leaks
Screw the pump on firmly, then hold the bottle over the sink and press the pump several times until liquid flows. The first presses push air out of the dip tube, so a few dry pumps are normal. Once it flows, check the collar and the base for drips. If you see a leak at the collar, tighten it a quarter turn; if it still leaks, the pump may not be seated correctly. Only after it runs clean and dry should you return the bottle to its shelf or counter.
Keep the pump working between refills
Rinse the pump under warm water every few refills to stop residue building up inside the nozzle, especially with thicker formulas like Dish Soap or Laundry Detergent. If the pump becomes stiff, remove it and soak it in warm water for ten minutes, then pump clean water through it. Do not put the aluminum bottle in the dishwasher; hand washing with warm water and a bottle brush is enough. Store refill pouches upright in a cool cupboard and fold the top over after opening to keep the concentrate fresh.
Step-by-step: refill your Ever Bottle Pump without spills
- Empty and rinse the bottle: Use up the last of the old cleaner, then rinse the bottle with warm water. A few drops of old product left behind can weaken the new mix. Checkpoint: the bottle should smell neutral before you refill.
- Dilute the concentrate in a jug: Pour the refill concentrate into a clean jug, add water to the ratio on the pouch, and stir gently. Mixing outside the bottle gives you room to correct the ratio. Common mistake: pouring concentrate directly into the bottle and topping up with water, which can leave unmixed concentrate at the bottom.
- Pour through a funnel to the shoulder: Set the bottle on a flat surface, insert a small funnel, and pour slowly until the liquid reaches the shoulder. Stop about 2cm below the threads. Common mistake: filling to the very top, which causes overflow when you insert the pump.
- Wipe the neck and refit the pump: Wipe the neck and threads with a cloth, then screw the pump on firmly. Any liquid left on the threads can drip down the bottle later. Checkpoint: the pump should sit straight and feel snug, not cross-threaded.
- Prime over the sink: Press the pump several times over the sink until liquid flows steadily. The first few presses clear air from the dip tube. Common mistake: priming over the counter and getting a first squirt on the surface you just cleaned.
- Rinse the pump between refills: Every few refills, run warm water through the pump and nozzle to clear residue, especially after thicker formulas. Soak a stiff pump in warm water for ten minutes. Next step: store refill pouches upright and folded, ready for the next mix.
