Quick answer
Most leaks in the HydroJug Sport 14oz bottle come from a misaligned straw, a loose lid, or a worn gasket. You can fix each in under a minute without tools.
Why the 14oz Sport bottle leaks differently than larger sizes
The 14oz Sport bottle uses a smaller lid and a narrower straw than the 20oz or 32oz versions. Because the seal area is more compact, even a tiny gap can cause a drip. The good news is that the same kid-friendly handle and lightweight build that make it great for little hands also make it easy to inspect and tighten.
Diagnose your leak in 3 steps
- Symptom: water drips from the straw opening: Push the straw all the way down until you feel it click into the lid. If the straw is slightly raised, water can escape around the base. Test by tipping the bottle upside down over a sink.
- Symptom: water seeps from the lid threads: Unscrew the lid completely, then re-screw it until you feel resistance. Over-tightening can warp the gasket, so stop as soon as the lid is snug. If it still leaks, inspect the clear silicone gasket inside the lid for cracks or debris. If the gasket is cracked, replace the lid assembly. A damaged gasket cannot be repaired.
- Symptom: occasional drip after being knocked over: Make sure the straw is in the down position when you close the lid. The leakproof seal only activates with the straw fully lowered. If the straw stays up, the bottle will leak when tipped. Always store the bottle with the straw down to keep the seal active.

Primrose: The Primrose print 14 oz Sport Bottle is completely leakproof with the straw down. If you see a leak, the straw may not be fully seated or the lid may not be screwed on tight. Checking these two points solves most issues.
