Quick answer

If you want the complete collection with all four decks and the best per-deck value, choose the MONARCH Collector Set. If you prefer a single, uniquely packaged KONG deck with the iconic accordion tuck box, the KONG Special Edition is your pick.

What sets these editions apart

The MONARCH Collector Set bundles four decks: Godzilla Standard, Kong Standard, Godzilla Special, and Kong Special. The KONG Special Edition is a single deck featuring the exclusive accordion-style tuck box designed by Room One Cards, with embossing and hot foil details that showcase Kong's silhouette.

The main difference is scope versus uniqueness. The MONARCH set gives you the full lineup at a lower price per deck, while the KONG Special Edition offers a standout display piece with packaging that's a conversation starter on its own.

Value and collectibility trade-offs

At USD 78.10 (compared to USD 110.00), the MONARCH Collector Set costs about USD 19.53 per deck. That's a significant saving over buying four decks individually. However, you get standard tuck boxes for the Godzilla and Kong standard editions, plus the special editions with their unique packaging.

The KONG Special Edition at USD 23.94 (compared to USD 38.00) is a single deck, but its accordion tuck box is a limited design element that collectors often prize. If you already own a Godzilla deck or only want one titan-themed deck, this edition avoids the extra cost of the full set.

MONARCH Collector Set vs KONG Special Edition: Trade-offs

  • Number of decks: MONARCH gives you 4 decks; KONG Special gives you 1 deck.
  • Price per deck: MONARCH costs about USD 19.53 per deck; KONG Special costs USD 23.94 per deck. MONARCH is more economical if you want all four decks.
  • Packaging uniqueness: KONG Special has the exclusive accordion tuck box; MONARCH includes standard tuck boxes for the standard editions and special tuck boxes for the special editions. If packaging is your priority, the KONG Special Edition's box is a standout.
  • Collector completeness: MONARCH set is the only way to get all four decks in one purchase; KONG Special is a single-deck option. For a full collection, go MONARCH. For a focused addition, go KONG Special.
