Quick answer
Machine wash your Grain Sack Rectangle Dog Bed Cover on a gentle cycle with cold water and tumble dry on low to keep the rustic canvas and stripe colors looking fresh.
Why gentle care matters for grain sack fabric
The Grain Sack bed cover uses a rustic canvas that gives it a charming, farmhouse look. This fabric is durable but can fade or shrink if washed with harsh detergents or high heat. Gentle care preserves the print and the plumpness of the fill.
The cover is designed to be removable and washable, so regular cleaning is easy. Just be mindful of the water temperature and drying method to avoid damaging the fabric or the stripe colors.
Frequently asked questions
Can I machine wash the Grain Sack cover?
Yes, machine wash on a gentle cycle with cold water. Use a mild detergent and avoid bleach to protect the stripe colors and canvas texture.
How should I dry the cover?
Tumble dry on low heat. High heat can shrink the canvas or cause fading. Remove the cover promptly to minimize wrinkles. Low heat is key to preserving the rustic look.
Can I iron the cover?
Ironing is not recommended. The canvas fabric may scorch or lose its texture. Instead, smooth out wrinkles by drying on low or gently stretching the cover while damp.
How often should I wash the cover?
Wash every 2-4 weeks, or more often if your dog sheds heavily or the cover gets dirty. Spot clean small stains between washes to extend the time between full washes. Regular washing keeps the bed fresh and reduces allergens.
Will the stripe colors fade over time?
With proper care—cold water, gentle cycle, low heat drying—the black, red, or blue stripes should stay vibrant. Avoid direct sunlight for prolonged periods to prevent UV fading.
