Quick answer

Choose the Starter Pack if you sleep solo or want a simple, lower-cost entry into HEST memory foam: it pairs one Foamy mattress with one pillow and a tote. Choose the Dually Pack if you sleep two and want a fuller bed setup, because it bundles a two-person Dually mattress with a comforter, two pillows, two pillowcases, and a tote. The Dually Pack costs more and takes up more space, but it covers two sleepers in one purchase.

What each bundle actually contains

The Starter Pack includes one Foamy mattress in any size, one HEST pillow in any size, and a tote. It is the leaner of the two bundles and leaves room to add gear later.

The Dually Pack includes one Dually mattress in your chosen size, one Double Down Comforter, two Camp Medium Pillows, two Camp Medium Pillowcases, and a tote. You pick the Dually size; everything else is already in the pack.

  • Starter Pack: one Foamy mattress, one pillow, one tote.
  • Dually Pack: one Dually mattress, one comforter, two Camp Medium Pillows, two Camp Medium Pillowcases, one tote.

Price and value at a glance

The Starter Pack is listed at USD 330.31, compared with a catalog comparison price of USD 493.00. The Dually Pack is listed at USD 833.95, compared with a catalog comparison price of USD 1283.00. Both bundles are positioned as bundle-and-save options, but they serve different budgets and sleep setups.

If you only need one mattress and one pillow, the Starter Pack keeps your total spend lower. If you need two pillows, a comforter, and a two-person mattress, the Dually Pack avoids buying those items separately.

Sleeping capacity and sizing

The Dually is HEST's two-person camping mattress pad, and the Dually Pack lets you choose from Dually Long 50"x78", Dually Wide 60"x72", Dually Short 50"x64", or Dually Queen 60"x78". That range matters if you sleep in a truck bed camper, rooftop tent pop-up, or tent with a specific footprint.

The Starter Pack uses the Foamy mattress, which is available in any size, plus a pillow in any size. HEST describes the Foamy as having two layers of enhanced memory foam for body alignment and pressure point relief, and as designed to roll with you. If you sleep alone or want a mattress you can move between setups, the Foamy is the simpler choice.

Setup and storage

Both bundles include a tote, so storage is covered at a basic level. The Dually Pack adds a comforter and two pillows, which means more items to pack and store, but also a more complete bed for two. The Starter Pack keeps the kit smaller, which can matter if you are tight on vehicle space or want to add bedding you already own.

If you camp with a partner and want one purchase that covers the mattress, comforter, and pillows, the Dually Pack reduces the number of separate decisions. If you already have a favorite pillow or comforter, the Starter Pack lets you use those instead of paying for duplicates.

Trade-offs to weigh before you buy

  • Cost vs. completeness: The Starter Pack costs less and covers one sleeper; the Dually Pack costs more but includes a comforter and two pillows for two sleepers. If two people share the bed, price the Dually Pack against buying those items separately.
  • Footprint and pack size: The Dually Pack adds a comforter and two pillows, so it takes up more space than the Starter Pack's single mattress and pillow. Measure your tent or truck bed before choosing a Dually size.
  • Sizing flexibility: The Dually comes in four sizes, while the Foamy in the Starter Pack is available in any size, so both can fit a range of setups. Match the mattress to your sleeping space first, then choose the bundle that includes it.

Product facts

  • DUALLY PACK: The Dually Pack includes one Dually mattress (pick size), one Double Down Comforter, two Camp Medium Pillows, two Camp Medium Pillowcases, and one tote. This is a complete two-person sleep setup in one purchase, so you do not need to buy bedding separately.
  • STARTER PACK: The Starter Pack includes one Foamy mattress (any size), one pillow (any size), and one tote. It covers one sleeper at a lower cost and lets you choose the mattress and pillow size that fits your body and tent.
  • The Dually: The Dually is a two-person camping mattress pad designed for flat, dry sleeping spaces in truck bed campers, rooftop tent pop-ups, and tents, and comes in Long, Wide, Short, and Queen sizes. If you sleep two and have a defined space, the Dually sizing options help you match the mattress to your vehicle or tent footprint.
