Quick answer
For a personal milestone like a birthday, choose a FrischSchoggi Grussherz with a handwritten message. For a light, everyday congratulations, a bag of Snacks Orangenstäbli offers a refined yet casual treat.
Match the gesture to the chocolate style
A chocolate gift says different things depending on its form and presentation. A heart-shaped box with a personal message feels intimate and celebratory, while a bag of chocolate-dipped orange peels is more casual and snackable. The occasion and your relationship with the recipient should guide which style you pick.
Läderach offers both: the FrischSchoggi Grussherz line is designed for moments when you want to write a note, and the Snacks Orangenstäbli are perfect for a thoughtful but low-pressure gift.
Consider freshness and shelf life
FrischSchoggi products are made with fresh cream and have a shorter shelf life than standard chocolate bars. If you need to mail the gift or buy it well in advance, the Snacks Orangenstäbli (candied orange peel in dark chocolate) keep longer and travel better. For a same-day or next-day celebration, fresh chocolate makes a bigger impression.
Your chocolate gift decision rules
-
Is it a birthday or personal milestone?: Choose the FrischSchoggi Grussherz Zum Geburtstag (product ID 805121) or the FrischSchoggi Grussherz Herzlichen Glückwunsch (product ID 805132). Both allow a handwritten message on the chocolate itself.

Is it a casual congratulations or thank-you?: Pick the Snacks Orangenstäbli (product ID 805178). The candied orange and dark chocolate combination is sophisticated but not overly formal. This option travels well and doesn't need refrigeration for short periods.
-
Do you need to ship the gift?: Avoid fresh FrischSchoggi for long-distance shipping. Instead, choose the Snacks Orangenstäbli, which have a longer shelf life and are less sensitive to temperature changes. Always check the delivery address and timing before ordering fresh chocolate.
