Quick answer
Match your nicotine strength to your previous smoking or vaping habits. For moderate smokers or those wanting a smooth throat hit, 11mg nic salt liquids like the Pod Salt Core range offer a balanced experience.
Why nicotine strength matters
The right nicotine level prevents cravings without causing harshness or discomfort. Too high can lead to throat irritation, too low may not satisfy. Your choice also affects how quickly you absorb nicotine, which is different for freebase versus nic salt liquids.
Understanding 11mg and nic salts
Nic salts allow higher nicotine strengths with a smoother inhale compared to freebase. An 11mg nic salt liquid like Pod Salt Core is ideal for vapers who want a mild throat hit and steady satisfaction. It works best in low-power pod systems.
Decision rules for choosing nicotine strength
- Heavy smoker (20+ cigarettes/day): Start with 18mg or 20mg nic salt. If unavailable, 11mg may require more frequent puffing.
- Moderate smoker (10-19 cigarettes/day): 11mg nic salt is a strong starting point. It provides enough nicotine to curb cravings while keeping the throat hit comfortable. This is the sweet spot for most vapers switching from moderate smoking.
- Light smoker or social vaper: Choose 3mg or 6mg freebase, or 11mg nic salt if you prefer a smoother inhale. Nic salts at 11mg are still mild enough for occasional use. Avoid high-strength nic salts if you only vape occasionally.
- Device type matters: Pod systems with low wattage work best with 11mg nic salt liquids like Pod Salt Core. High-power devices can overheat nic salts and ruin the flavor. Always match your liquid to your device's power range.
