Quick answer

The Add-On Kit: Banks adds a high-speed banked turn to your existing 2-lane Roadworks track. Attach it using the BoneLock connectors, then race cars without slowing down.

Why add a banked turn to your track?

A banked turn lets toy cars maintain speed through a curve instead of braking or flying off. The Add-On Kit: Banks creates one continuous banked lane that keeps cars hugging the track wall, making races feel more realistic and faster. It works only with the Roadworks system, which uses a 2-lane analog track sold separately.

What you need before starting

The Add-On Kit: Banks is an expansion piece, not a standalone set. You must already own a Roadworks Cars and Speed Playset (sold separately) to provide the power base, cars, and straight track sections. The kit includes two lane pieces and one banked turn section that connects using the patent-pending BoneLock system.

How to set up and use the Add-On Kit: Banks

  1. 1. Connect the banked turn to your existing track: Align the BoneLock connectors on the banked turn piece with the open ends of your straight track. Press firmly until you hear a click. The banked turn only fits one way — the raised outer wall should face the outside of your track loop. Common mistake: forcing the connector backward. If it doesn't click, flip the piece and try again.
  2. 2. Attach the second lane piece: Snap the second straight lane section onto the opposite side of the banked turn to complete the loop. Ensure both lanes are parallel and the track lies flat on the floor or table. Check that both connectors are fully seated. A loose joint can cause cars to derail at high speed.
  3. 3. Test the track with a slow run: Place one car on each lane at the starting point. Push them gently through the banked turn to confirm the cars stay in their lanes and the banked wall guides them smoothly. If a car jumps the track, the banked turn may be slightly tilted. Press down on the connectors to level the section.
  4. 4. Race at full speed: Once the slow test passes, run the cars at full speed. The banked turn is designed to keep cars hugging the wall, so you can race without slowing down through the curve. For best results, use the included cars from the Roadworks playset. Other toy cars may not have the right wheelbase or weight.
  5. 5. Break down and store: To disassemble, pull the BoneLock connectors apart gently. Store the banked turn piece flat to avoid warping. The modular design makes it easy to rebuild into different layouts. Avoid bending the connectors when pulling apart — they are designed to snap together and apart repeatedly, but twisting can damage them.
