Quick answer
The ISTE 2023 expo offered STEM educators hands-on looks at emerging edtech tools, from robotics to laser cutters, plus practical strategies for bringing these innovations into the classroom.
Why ISTE 2023 mattered for STEM educators
ISTE 2023 was a key moment for STEM education, with exhibitors like Makeblock and xTool showcasing the newest tech tools for innovators. For educators, the expo floor was a chance to test equipment and see how it fits into real teaching environments.
Beyond the booths, the conference offered sessions on integrating technology into curricula, helping teachers turn new gadgets into meaningful learning experiences.
Trade-offs to consider before buying
While the latest tools can be exciting, they often come with a learning curve and budget considerations. Educators should weigh the cost of new equipment against their specific curriculum goals and available training.
Not every tool will fit every classroom. Consider storage, maintenance, and the time needed to train both teachers and students before making a purchase.
