Quick answer
Pack your Kanga Care Travel Buddiez Tobie Penguin by filling it with sunscreen or lotion, squeezing the air out, and sealing it tight. Keep it in your diaper bag organizer for quick access during outings.
Why the Tobie Penguin works for travel
The Tobie Penguin is a 3 oz Travel Buddy that is TSA approved, so you can take it on flights without hassle. Its simple squeeze design makes it easy to dispense sunscreen or lotion with one hand while holding a baby or diaper bag.
Because the bottle is small and lightweight, it won't add bulk to your diaper bag. You can toss it in a pocket or clip it to a keychain for quick access. The only tradeoff is the limited capacity — 3 oz may not last a full day of heavy use, so plan to refill for longer trips.
How to pack your Tobie Penguin for travel
- Fill the bottle: Unscrew the cap and squeeze the bottle to create a vacuum, then dip the opening into your lotion or sunscreen and release. The bottle will suck up the product. Alternatively, use a small funnel to pour liquid in directly. Common mistake: filling to the brim without leaving air space can cause leaks when the cap is screwed on.
- Seal and test: Screw the cap on tightly. Turn the bottle upside down and give it a gentle squeeze to check for leaks. If liquid seeps out, tighten the cap more or wipe the threads clean before resealing. Always test before tossing into your diaper bag — a leaky bottle can ruin other essentials.
- Store in your diaper bag organizer: Place the Tobie Penguin in a dedicated pocket or small pouch within your diaper bag. Keep it upright if possible, and away from items that could be damaged by moisture. Checkpoint: if you store it loose, the bottle may get crushed or leak. Use a small wet bag or a zippered pocket for extra protection.
- Clean after each use: Rinse the bottle with warm water and mild soap, then let it air dry completely before refilling. Avoid using harsh chemicals or dishwasher cycles that could warp the plastic. Residue buildup can clog the nozzle or cause odors — a quick rinse after each trip keeps it fresh.
