Quick answer
The Lance Brick is a 2024 Patreon-exclusive brick that offers a complete set of Janus Series decks, making it a strong choice for dedicated collectors who want a sealed, matching set.
Why the Lance Brick stands out
The Lance Brick is not just a bundle of decks; it's a curated piece of the Janus Series. As a 2024 Patreon exclusive, it signals a specific moment in the series' history, appealing to collectors who value limited releases.
Because it's a brick, you get a consistent set of decks, which is ideal for display or for keeping one sealed while using another for play or handling.
Consider the trade-offs
The Lance Brick's value is tied to its exclusivity and the condition of the brick itself. If you're not a Patreon member, obtaining one might involve the secondary market, where prices can vary significantly.
Also, think about whether you want a full brick or just a single deck. If you're only interested in one design, a brick might be more than you need.
Decision rules for the Lance Brick
- Check the brick's condition: Before buying, inspect the brick's seal and packaging for any damage. A pristine brick holds more value and is better for display. Ask for photos of the seal and corners if buying online.
- Verify authenticity: Ensure the brick comes from a reputable source. Since it's a Patreon exclusive, confirm it includes the original packaging or any identifying marks of the 2024 release. Request proof of purchase or provenance if possible.
- Decide your intended use: If you plan to open and use the decks, a brick gives you spares. If you're investing, keep it sealed. Consider your collection goals before committing. Decide whether you're a player or a sealed collector.
