Quick answer
The Magic: The Gathering - Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Play Booster introduces characters from four decades of TMNT lore, the new sneak mechanic, and Mutagen tokens to power up your team.
What makes this booster different from regular MTG packs?
This isn't a standard expansion. The TMNT Play Booster is a crossover set that brings a new keyword (sneak) and a new token type (Mutagen) to the game. The cards focus on the Turtles, their allies like April O'Neil, and villains such as Shredder and the Foot Clan. If you're a TMNT fan new to Magic, the mechanics are designed to be approachable without requiring deep knowledge of the larger MTG meta.
What is the sneak mechanic?
Sneak is a new ability that lets a creature deal combat damage directly to an opponent's life total, bypassing blockers. In the TMNT set, this reflects the Turtles' stealthy hit-and-run style. It gives aggressive decks a way to pressure opponents who rely on defensive creatures.
How do Mutagen tokens work?
Mutagen tokens are a new resource that can enhance your creatures' power. You earn them through specific card effects, then spend them to boost stats or unlock extra abilities. They add a layer of strategy around timing and resource management, similar to charging up a special move.

Are there full art cards or alternate frames?
Yes, the set includes full-art borderless cards for key characters. These are collector variants that show the full illustration without the usual card frame. They are rarer than standard versions. Full-art variants are available for collectors.
Is the booster worth buying for gameplay or collecting?
For gameplay, the new mechanics add fresh strategies, especially if you enjoy aggressive or tempo-based decks. For collecting, the crossover appeal and full-art variants make it a solid pickup for TMNT or MTG fans. It's not a must-buy if you only play competitive Standard formats.
