Two purchases, two different problems

The MaxiMist Elite Series Lite HVLP Tanning Kit and the MaxiMist Elite Series Spray Tanning Gun ST300 Upgrade Kit are not competing systems. One is a complete turbine-and-gun kit; the other is a gun upgrade for existing Lite+ owners. The right choice depends on whether you are starting from scratch or already own a compatible Lite+ unit.

That distinction matters because the upgrade kit carries a hard compatibility limit: it will not work on other units. Before comparing features, confirm which group you are in.

What the Elite Lite kit includes

  • MaxiMist Elite Series Lite HVLP Tanning Kit: The MaxiMist Elite Series LITE will come with either our standard MaxiMister ST300 spray gun or our top of the line MaxiMister Pro Series ST301 spray gun or BOTH featuring stainless steel fluid passageways and advanced air cap designs. The kit is the starting point for a new setup; the exact gun configuration depends on the variant supplied, so check the listing before ordering.

What the ST300 upgrade kit actually upgrades

Side-by-side decision factors

  • Starting point: The Elite Lite kit is a complete system for new buyers. The ST300 upgrade kit assumes you already own a compatible Lite+ unit.
  • Compatibility: The Elite Lite kit is a standalone purchase. The ST300 upgrade kit will not work on other units; it is limited to specified Lite+ systems with a Satinaire spray gun.
  • Gun configuration: The Elite Lite kit may include the ST300, the ST301, or both depending on the variant. The ST300 upgrade kit is specifically the ST300 gun upgrade.
  • Quick connection: The ST300 upgrade kit allows the Quick Connection to fit your Lite Plus hose. The Elite Lite kit's hose is a 6 ft reinforced hose; its connection type is not confirmed in the supplied information.
  • Warranty: The Elite Lite kit carries a 1 year warranty, including the turbine/motor. Warranty terms for the ST300 upgrade kit are not confirmed in the supplied information.

When the Elite Lite kit is the simpler buy

If you do not already own a compatible Lite+ system, the Elite Lite kit is the only one of the two that gives you a complete setup. It is rated for 10 applications daily, seven days a week, and includes a 6 ft hose, a 300-watt 110V turbine, and a 1 year warranty on the turbine and motor. The kit's exact gun content varies by variant, so confirm whether you are getting the ST300, the ST301, or both before you order.

This is the practical route for a new spray tanning setup or for replacing a system that is not part of the Lite+ family.

When the ST300 upgrade kit makes sense

Choose the ST300 upgrade kit only if you already own a Lite+ system with a Satinaire spray gun and want the Elite ST300 gun with the quick connection to your Lite Plus hose. The catalog is explicit that it will not work on other units, so check your existing unit before buying.

If your current system is not a Lite+ with a Satinaire gun, the upgrade kit is not the right purchase; the Elite Lite kit or a different system is the safer path.

Check before you order

  • Identify your current unit: If you own a Lite+ with a Satinaire spray gun, the ST300 upgrade kit is designed for you. If not, it will not work.
  • Confirm the gun variant in the Elite Lite kit: The kit may ship with the ST300, the ST301, or both. Check the listing to know which gun you will receive.
  • Verify power and space: The Elite Lite turbine is 300 watts at 110V, measures 5L x 8W x 8H, weighs 2.5 lbs, and runs at 72db at 6 ft. Confirm your outlet and workspace match.
  • Note what is not confirmed: The supplied information does not include preparation or operating instructions for either product, nor warranty details for the ST300 upgrade kit. Consult the manufacturer's documentation for those details.
