Quick Answer
Display your Mickey and Minnie love figurine on a stable shelf away from direct sunlight and humidity to protect the painted details and sand-textured base.
Why Placement Matters for This Figurine
The Our Love Is Deeper Than The Ocean figurine features Mickey and Minnie in tropical beach attire, with a sandy shore base and a sentiment inscribed in the sand. These delicate painted details and textured elements are vulnerable to fading, dust buildup, and accidental chipping if placed in high-traffic areas or near windows.
Choosing a spot that balances visibility with protection keeps the piece looking fresh for years. A dedicated shelf or display cabinet in a low-traffic room works best.
Trade-Off: Shelf Height vs. Viewing Angle
Placing the figurine at eye level gives you the best view of Mickey's kiss on Minnie's cheek and the ocean-themed base. However, a lower shelf might be safer if you have curious pets or young children who could knock it over.
If you choose a higher shelf, ensure it's stable and the figurine is centered to avoid tipping. The piece is not overly heavy, but its standing pose makes it susceptible to falls.
Diagnosis: Common Display Issues & Fixes
- Symptom: Dust collects in the sand-textured base: Use a soft, dry makeup brush or a compressed air duster to gently remove dust from the grooves. Avoid wet cleaning on the textured area. If dust is stubborn, stop and use a gentle brush only – water may damage the paint.
- Symptom: Painted colors appear faded or dull: Move the figurine away from direct sunlight or strong artificial light. UV rays degrade the paint over time. A spot with indirect light preserves the vibrant red and orange tones. If fading is already visible, consider relocating to a darker shelf to prevent further damage.
- Symptom: Figurine wobbles or tips easily on the shelf: Ensure the shelf is level and the figurine is placed on a non-slip pad or a small piece of museum putty. The standing pose makes it prone to tipping if bumped. If the wobble persists, do not force the figurine – choose a different display surface or use a display stand with a lip.
