Quick answer
If you love surprises and don't mind mismatched colors, the Mystic Mines Misfit Gemstone Dice Set offers a premium blind-box experience at a discount. For consistent tabletop aesthetics, standard matched gemstone dice are the better choice.
Why choose a mismatched set?
The Mystic Mines Misfit set is a curated mystery box: you get seven random gemstone dice from a pool that includes Turquoise, Frosted Glass, and other semi-precious stones. Each die is individually unique, so your set will never look like anyone else's. This appeals to collectors who enjoy the thrill of discovery and players who want a conversation-starting dice set.
The trade-off: consistency vs. surprise
Standard gemstone dice sets are matched by color and material, giving your dice tray a cohesive look. The Mystic Mines Misfit set deliberately breaks that uniformity. You might get a blue Turquoise d20 alongside a clear Frosted Glass d6. If visual harmony matters to you, the mismatched look may feel jarring. But if you embrace the chaos, each roll becomes a little more memorable.
Trade-offs at a glance
- Mystic Mines Misfit Gemstone Dice Set: Random mismatched gemstone dice in a premium mystery box. Includes 7 dice from a pool of semi-precious stones. Priced at USD 36.99 (catalog comparison price USD 49.99). Best for collectors and players who value surprise and uniqueness over matching sets.
- Standard matched gemstone dice sets: Typically sold as coordinated sets where all dice share the same stone type and color. Prices vary by material and rarity. Ideal for players who want a uniform look across their dice tray.
- Key difference: Misfit sets are random and mismatched; standard sets are intentional and consistent. The Misfit set offers a discount compared to buying each die individually. Choose based on whether you prioritize surprise or symmetry.

Mystic Mines Misfit Gemstone Dice Set: FanRoll is thrilled to bring our most premium mystery box to the market. We have scooped up a complete set of 7 dice straight from the Dwarven Mines, but did not have time to match them. Therefore, you are getting a random set of Gemstone dice that could include anything from Turquoise to our ultra-rare Frosted Glass. You receive a full 7-piece polyhedral set, but each die is a surprise—so you might get rare stones at a lower price than buying matched sets individually.
