Quick Answer
For a new single release, expect a standard tracklist of two or more songs and packaging that may include special editions or first-press bonuses. Check the catalog details to know exactly what you're getting.
What's in a New Single?
A new single typically includes two or more tracks, often with additional songs. The packaging can vary from standard jewel cases to special paper jackets, especially for first-press editions.
For example, Yuzu's '桜会（さくらえ）／マイライフ' is a single with two distinct tracks, while Hambreeders' 'またね / THE SONG' is a standard edition with first press specifications and a paper jacket.
Why Packaging Matters
Packaging can affect the collectible value and the listening experience. First-press editions often come with special packaging or bonuses, but they may be limited in quantity.
If you're a collector, you might prefer a first-press edition with a paper jacket. If you're just buying for the music, a standard edition may be sufficient.
New Single FAQ
What is a single tracklist?
A single tracklist typically includes the main song, a B-side or second track, and sometimes additional songs or remixes. Check the catalog for the exact tracklist. Always verify the tracklist before buying to ensure it includes the songs you want.
What packaging options are available?
Singles may come in standard jewel cases or special editions like paper jackets. First-press editions often have unique packaging or bonuses, but they may be limited. If packaging is important to you, look for first-press editions, but be aware they may sell out quickly.
How do I choose between standard and first-press editions?
If you're a collector or want the special packaging, go for the first-press edition. If you just want the music, the standard edition is usually cheaper and easier to find. Consider your budget and whether the extras are worth the higher price.
