The one thing to check before you buy
More Cards Box 1 is an expansion, not a standalone game. The product record includes a blunt warning: "DO NOT BUY THIS UNLESS YOU ALREADY OWN POETRY FOR NEANDERTHALS." If you don't have the base game, this box won't get you playing. If you do own it, this pack is a straightforward way to add fresh material.
What's actually in the box
The expansion adds 2,000 new words and phrases to Poetry for Neanderthals. It also includes 20 blank cards so you can write in your own words and personalize the game. That's the full contents according to the supplied product information—no extra rules or components are listed.
More Cards Box 1 at a glance
-
Poetry for Neanderthals Expansion More Cards Box 1: More Cards Box 1 adds 2,000 new words and phrases to Poetry for Neanderthals. This is the core value: more variety for groups that have worn out the base game's cards.
Poetry for Neanderthals Expansion More Cards Box 1
-
Poetry for Neanderthals Expansion More Cards Box 1: The pack includes 20 blank cards so you can personalize your game. Blank cards let you tailor the game to your group, but they require your own ideas and a marker.
Who should buy it—and who should skip it
Buy it if you already own Poetry for Neanderthals and play it often enough that the original cards feel stale. The 2,000 new entries and 20 blanks extend the game's replay value without adding new rules to learn.
Skip it if you don't own the base game, or if you only play occasionally and haven't exhausted the original deck. The expansion doesn't stand alone, and the catalog doesn't indicate that it changes the core experience beyond new words.
The trade-off: more words, same game
This is a content expansion, not a gameplay overhaul. The supplied information doesn't mention new mechanics, player counts, or age ranges. If you're looking for a different twist on the game, this pack won't provide it—it simply gives you more cards to play with. For groups that love the base game's format, that's exactly the point.
Compatibility and price context
