Quick answer

Choose Polybag Reptile Figurines if your child loves snakes and chameleons and you want a slightly lower price; choose Polybag Zip Insect Figurines for insect-themed exploration and a set that encourages studying tiny creatures. Both are 12-piece sets that work well as travel toys.

Price and value

At catalog prices, the reptile set is listed at $11.58 (compared to $18.99), while the insect set is $12.79 (compared to $19.99). The difference is small, so let your child's interest guide you rather than the price tag.

Play themes and animal variety

The reptile set includes lifelike snakes and chameleons, appealing to kids who like dramatic, slithering play. The insect set focuses on the diversity of tiny creatures, encouraging careful observation and mimicry. Both sets have 12 figures, but the reptile set may feel more familiar to younger children, while the insect set can spark curiosity about smaller wildlife.

Portability and travel use

Both sets come in polybag packaging, making them easy to toss in a backpack or carry-on. Neither set includes a storage container, so you may want a small pouch to keep the pieces together. The insect figures are likely smaller, but the reptile figures are still compact enough for travel.

Key trade-offs

  • Price: The reptile set costs about $1.21 less at catalog price. If budget is the deciding factor, the reptile set wins, but the difference is minor.
  • Animal appeal: Reptiles (snakes, chameleons) often appeal to kids who like bold, active play; insects appeal to kids who enjoy careful observation and tiny details. Match the set to your child's existing interests. Consider which animals your child already points out or talks about.
  • Play space: Both sets have 12 figures and come in polybags. The insect figures may be smaller, making them easier to lose; the reptile figures are likely larger but still portable. Plan a storage solution either way.
