Quick answer
The Quar Clash of Rifles hardcover rulebook is a 144-page skirmish rule set for the grim-but-whimsical world of Alwyd, focusing on small patrol actions that shape the larger Long War.
What the rulebook covers and what it leaves out
The hardcover rulebook focuses entirely on skirmish-level games—patrols of young recruits and veterans fighting critical little conflicts. It does not include army lists for larger battles or campaign rules for the wider Long War; those are covered in separate supplements. If you want a self-contained game that plays quickly on a small table, this book delivers. If you need grand-tactical rules, you will need additional publications.
Why the Coftyran faction dice matter
The Quar Coftyran Faction Dice Set replaces the 6 face with the Coftyran logo, making it easy to track special results during skirmishes. The dice are 16mm with rounded corners—standard size for most wargames—so they fit in any dice tray or cup. Because the rulebook does not include dice, picking up a faction-specific set saves you from hunting for generic replacements later.
Frequently asked questions
How many pages does the rulebook have?
144 pages, hardcover, covering skirmish rules for the world of Alwyd.
Does the rulebook include dice?
No. You need your own six-sided dice. The Coftyran Faction Dice Set is designed to match the game's factions and replaces the 6 with the faction logo. Buying the faction dice set saves you from using generic dice and adds thematic flavor.
Is this book for beginners or experienced wargamers?
Both. The rules are written for skirmish-level play, so new players can learn on small patrols while veterans will appreciate the tactical depth of the Long War setting. If you are new to wargaming, start with a single patrol box and this rulebook.
Can I play larger battles with this rulebook?
Not directly. The book focuses on small patrol actions. Larger battles and campaign rules are covered in separate supplements. Check the publisher's website for expansion books if you want to scale up.
