Quick Answer
The Redcat GOLD LRH285 Designer Show Kit is a chassis-only RC kit that includes the frame, suspension, and drivetrain components, but you will need to supply your own electronics, wheels, tires, and body.
Why Choose the Chassis-Only Option
The GOLD LRH285 Designer Show Kit is sold as a chassis-only option, which gives you the freedom to customize your build with your preferred electronics and accessories. This approach is common among hobbyists who already have compatible parts or want a specific setup for lowrider shows.
Frequently Asked Questions
What components are included in the kit?
The kit includes the chassis frame, suspension arms, shocks, drivetrain (gears, axles, driveshafts), and the gold-finished chassis plates. It does not include a motor, ESC, servo, receiver, battery, charger, wheels, tires, or body.
What scale is the LRH285 Designer Show Kit?
It is a 1/10 scale RC chassis, which is a common size for lowrider and on-road models. This scale offers a good balance of detail and handling for show builds.
Do I need any special tools to assemble the kit?
Basic RC tools such as hex drivers, screwdrivers, and pliers are required. The chassis comes partially assembled, so you will need to attach your own electronics and wheels. No specialized tools beyond standard hobby equipment are necessary. Check your toolbox for hex drivers in common sizes (1.5mm, 2.0mm, 2.5mm) before starting.
Can I use standard RC electronics with this chassis?
Yes, the chassis is designed to accept standard 1/10 scale electronics. You will need a brushed or brushless motor (540 size recommended), an ESC, a standard servo, and a 2S or 3S LiPo battery. Check the motor mount and gear clearance for your specific motor choice.
