Quick answer
Remove the old gasket from your OctaLock lid, then press the new one into the groove until it's fully seated. This simple swap restores the seal on your Hopsulator Duo or Trio.
Why replace the gasket?
Over time, the OctaLock gasket can wear out, get lost, or become compressed from regular use. A damaged gasket compromises the leak-resistant seal, causing condensation or spills. Replacing it with a genuine BrüMate part restores performance without buying a new lid or cooler.
Which gasket fits your Hopsulator?
These replacement gaskets are designed exclusively for OctaLock Hopsulator Trios. If you own a Hopsulator Slim or an older Duo model without the OctaLock lid, this gasket won't fit. Check the bottom of your lid—if it has the OctaLock twist-and-lock mechanism, you're good.
Step-by-step gasket replacement
- Remove the lid from your Hopsulator: Twist the OctaLock lid counterclockwise to unlock it, then lift it off the tumbler. Set the can cooler aside. Work over a clean, dry surface so small parts don't roll away.
- Take out the old gasket: Pinch the edge of the existing gasket and pull it out of the groove. If it's stuck, use a blunt tool like a butter knife to gently pry it loose. Discard the old gasket. Check the groove for debris or residue before installing the new one.
- Align the new gasket: Place the new OctaLock gasket over the lid's groove. Ensure the flat side faces up and the lip matches the channel. The gasket is symmetrical, but pressing it in evenly prevents gaps.
- Press the gasket into place: Starting at one point, use your thumbs to press the gasket firmly into the groove. Work around the entire circumference until it sits flush and level. If it feels loose, remove and re-seat it—never force it with tools.
- Reattach the lid and test the seal: Place the lid back on your Hopsulator and twist clockwise to lock. Fill the tumbler with water, close the drinking spout, and tilt it gently to check for leaks. A small amount of condensation is normal; dripping means the gasket isn't seated correctly.
