Quick Answer
To use the Rolling Realms Promo: Skulk Hollow, shuffle the 6 promo cards into the core game's deck and treat them as standard realm cards, with the special Skulk Hollow rules applying when drawn.
What the Skulk Hollow Promo Adds
The Skulk Hollow promo pack includes 6 cards that introduce new realms inspired by the Skulk Hollow game. These cards are designed to mix seamlessly with the Rolling Realms core game, adding variety without changing the base rules.
Because the promo pack requires the core game, you'll need Rolling Realms to play. The cards are not standalone.
Setup Considerations
When setting up, simply add the 6 promo cards to the core deck and shuffle thoroughly. The cards are designed to be used with the standard Rolling Realms rules, so no additional components are needed.
If you're playing with multiple promo packs, you can mix them all together, but be aware that the more promo cards you add, the less frequently you'll see any individual realm. This can affect strategy, so consider your group's preference.
How to Play with the Skulk Hollow Promo
- Shuffle the promo cards into the core deck: Take the 6 Skulk Hollow promo cards and shuffle them into the main Rolling Realms deck. Ensure they are evenly distributed. Checkpoint: The deck should feel uniformly mixed, not clumped.
- Draw and play as normal: During setup and gameplay, treat the promo cards exactly like other realm cards. When a Skulk Hollow card is drawn, follow its printed instructions. Checkpoint: If a card's text seems unclear, refer to the core rulebook for general realm resolution.
- Apply Skulk Hollow-specific rules: Some Skulk Hollow cards may have unique scoring or action rules. Read each card carefully and apply its effects during the appropriate phase. Checkpoint: Common mistake: forgetting to apply the card's special rule before scoring. Always resolve the card's text first.
- Score at the end of the round: When the round ends, score each realm as indicated. Skulk Hollow cards may offer alternative scoring methods, so follow the card text. Checkpoint: Verify you've accounted for all bonuses or penalties from the promo cards.
