Quick answer

Choose the OP-01 Romance Dawn booster box if you want the original 2022 set and are willing to pay a premium; choose the OP-04 Kingdoms of Intrigue box if you prefer a newer 2023 set at a lower price with the same pack count.

Release timing and what it means for availability

OP-01 Romance Dawn released on 2022/07/22, while OP-04 Kingdoms of Intrigue arrived later on 2023/05/27. The earlier release date often means OP-01 boxes have been out of print longer, so sealed stock is generally scarcer and priced higher. OP-04 is newer, so it is usually easier to find and costs less. Neither box is guaranteed to stay available, so if you want a particular set, buy when you see it at a price you accept.

Price difference and what you get

At the store, the OP-01 box is listed at USD 208.60 (compared to a USD 298.00 reference price), and the OP-04 box is USD 111.89 (compared to USD 167.00). Both boxes contain 24 packs, and each pack contains 6 cards. The main trade-off is cost versus set age: OP-01 costs nearly twice as much for the same number of packs and cards, so you are paying for the original set and its relative scarcity. OP-04 gives you the same pack count for less, which may be better if you are opening packs for fun or building a collection from a newer set.

Sealed case option and condition

Both products offer a factory-sealed case option, and both are listed as new. If you plan to keep the box sealed for display or long-term storage, the case option can provide extra protection. However, the catalog does not specify how many boxes are in a case, so check the product page for details before choosing that option. For single-box buyers, the condition is the same: new and sealed.

Key trade-offs

  • Cost per pack: OP-01 works out to about USD 8.69 per pack, while OP-04 is about USD 4.66 per pack, based on listed prices for 24-pack boxes. If budget is your main concern, OP-04 gives you more packs for your money.
  • Set age and collectibility: OP-01 is from 2022 and is the first set of the English release; OP-04 is from 2023 and is a mid-era set. Older sealed boxes are often sought after by collectors, but they also cost more. Decide whether you value the original set or a newer set more.
  • Opening vs. keeping sealed: Both boxes are new and sealed, and both offer a factory-sealed case option. If you plan to open packs, OP-04's lower price makes it less risky; if you plan to keep the box sealed, OP-01's older release may have more long-term appeal. Your intention (open or store) should guide which box you pick.
