Quick answer
Use Sammy Light-Up Cubes for simple, mess-free water play in the bath or a sensory bin. Drop them in and watch them glow.
Why water works best
Sammy Cubes are designed to light up when wet, so water is the key to their magic. They work in any clear water container, from a small bin to a full bathtub. The cubes are made with 100% recycled plastic, so they're eco-friendly and safe for play.
Bath vs sensory bin: what's different
In the bath, the cubes float and drift, adding gentle light to the water. In a sensory bin, you control the depth and can add scoops or cups for pouring. Both setups work, but the bath offers more space for floating, while bins allow for focused scoop-and-pour play.
How to play with Sammy Cubes in water
- Step 1: Choose your water setup: Fill a bathtub with a few inches of water or a small sensory bin with cool tap water. Avoid hot water, as it may affect the light duration. Check that the container is clean and free of soap residue before adding cubes.
- Step 2: Drop in the cubes: Simply toss one or more Sammy Cubes into the water. They will start glowing within seconds. No shaking or twisting needed. Don't stack cubes on top of each other; they need direct contact with water to activate.
- Step 3: Engage with scooping or pouring: Use cups, spoons, or small buckets to scoop cubes out of the water and pour them back in. The light continues as long as they stay wet. If a cube stops glowing, it may be dry. Dip it back in water to reactivate.
- Step 4: End play and dry the cubes: When done, remove cubes from water, rinse with plain water if needed, and pat dry with a soft towel. Store in a dry place. Don't leave cubes in water overnight; the light will fade and the plastic may get cloudy.
