Quick answer

For a cat with a sensitive stomach, start with a limited-ingredient, easily digestible kibble like Fromm Gold Adult Cat Food, which includes probiotics and select proteins to support digestion.

Why Fromm Gold works for sensitive stomachs

Fromm Gold recipes are crafted in controlled batches at a family facility, which means consistent quality and fewer surprises in each bag. The formulas include select proteins like chicken and duck, along with pearled barley and white rice—ingredients that are gentle on the digestive tract.

Probiotics are added to support healthy digestion, and salmon oil helps maintain a lustrous coat, which can be a sign of overall wellness. For cats that also need to manage weight, the Healthy Weight variant offers the same digestive support with a tailored calorie profile.

Diagnose and fix your cat's sensitive stomach

  • Symptom: Common signs include vomiting, loose stools, gas, or a dull coat after eating.
  • Likely cause: Often caused by a sudden diet change, food intolerance, or ingredients that are hard to digest, such as low-quality fillers. If symptoms started after a new food, that is the most likely trigger.
  • Corrective action: Switch to a gentle kibble like Fromm Gold Adult Cat Food, which uses select proteins and probiotics to support digestion. Transition slowly over 7-10 days by mixing increasing amounts of the new food with the old. Monitor your cat's stool and appetite during the transition.
  • When to stop or choose another option: If symptoms persist after two weeks on the new food, or if your cat shows signs of lethargy, dehydration, or blood in stool, stop the trial and consult your veterinarian. Also consider a limited-ingredient or prescription diet if your vet confirms a specific food allergy. Do not continue a food that worsens symptoms; seek professional advice.
