Quick Answer

The Skylanders Giants Zook Series 2 figure works with multiple games and consoles, but its code is tied to the platform you activate it on. If you're a collector, the sealed white-box version is a rare find; if you're a player, make sure you have the correct portal and game disc.

Why the White Box Matters

The Skylanders Giants Zook Series 2 figure sold here comes in a sealed white box from the Activision vault, not the typical hang-tag packaging you'd see on store shelves. This means the figure was never retailed, so it's a unique addition for collectors who value unopened stock. However, the absence of a hang-tag does not affect gameplay—the figure and its code are identical to the retail version.

Code Redemption and Platform Lock

Each Series 2 figure includes a code that unlocks in-game content or character variants. The code is platform-specific: a code for Wii U will not work on PS3 or Xbox 360. If you plan to use the figure across multiple consoles, you'll need to redeem the code on the primary platform you play. The figure itself is NFC-based and works on any portal from the same console family.

Compatibility Across Games

Zook Series 2 is compatible with Skylanders Giants, Swap Force, Trap Team, and SuperChargers, but not with the original Spyro's Adventure. In Trap Team, the figure can be used as a playable character, but it does not unlock any trap-related mechanics. The figure works on Wii U, PS3, Xbox 360, and 3DS—but note that the 3DS version requires a separate portal.

Decision Rules for Buying

  • Collector or Player?: If you want a rare sealed figure for display, the white-box version is a solid choice. If you only need a functional figure for gameplay, a used or loose version may be cheaper.
  • Check Your Console: Confirm which platform you play on—Wii U, PS3, Xbox 360, or 3DS—and ensure you have the correct portal. The code only works on the platform you redeem it on. Purchase a figure that matches your console to avoid code issues.
  • Game Compatibility: Zook Series 2 works in Giants, Swap Force, Trap Team, and SuperChargers. It does not work in Spyro's Adventure. If you plan to use it in Trap Team, remember it's a regular character, not a trap. Check your game library before buying to ensure compatibility.
  • Price vs. Value: The catalog price of USD 3.81 (compared to USD 5.95) makes this a budget-friendly option for both players and collectors. Consider buying multiple figures to complete your collection or for trading. The low price reduces risk if the code is not needed.
