Quick answer

Attach the PEAX SOLITUDE 6 Footprint to your tipi using its ten integrated attachment points, then stake the corners before raising the pole. This keeps the footprint taut, blocks moisture, and protects the tent floor.

Why use a footprint at all

A footprint adds a durable barrier between your tent floor and the ground. It prevents abrasion from rocks, roots, and gravel, and its raised tub walls keep water from seeping in during rain or snowmelt. Without it, your tipi floor takes all the wear and moisture directly.

Fit considerations for the SOLITUDE 6

The SOLITUDE 6 Footprint is purpose-built for the 6P Tipi, so it matches the floor shape exactly. The ten integrated attachment points align with the tent's stake-out loops, eliminating guesswork. Because the footprint is slightly smaller than the tent floor, it prevents water from pooling between the layers.

How to set up the SOLITUDE 6 Footprint

  1. Clear the site and lay the footprint flat: Remove sharp rocks, sticks, and debris from your chosen spot. Unfold the footprint and position it with the raised tub walls facing up. Smooth out any wrinkles. A lumpy site can cause the footprint to sit unevenly, reducing its water-shedding ability.
  2. Stake the four corners first: Insert a stake through each corner grommet at a 45-degree angle outward. Drive them fully into the ground so the footprint is taut and flat. If the corners aren't tight, the footprint can shift when you pitch the tent on top.
  3. Attach the remaining six tie-down points: Use the integrated loops to stake the midpoint of each side and the two extra points near the door area. Keep even tension across the entire footprint. Uneven tension creates low spots where water can collect.
  4. Pitch the tipi on top and align the loops: Lay the SOLITUDE 6 Tipi over the staked footprint. Match the tent's corner stake loops directly over the footprint's corner grommets. Insert stakes through both layers at each point. If the loops are misaligned, the tent floor will sit off-center and may not seal against the tub walls.
  5. Raise the center pole and tension the tent: Insert the center pole and lift the tent. Adjust guy lines and side stakes to pull the tent walls taut. Check that the footprint stays flat underneath. A slack tent can cause the footprint to bunch up, creating gaps for moisture.

Product facts

  • SOLITUDE 6 FOOTPRINT: Ten integrated attachment points lock it perfectly to your 6P Tipi. Raised tub walls keep water where it belongs—outside. You get a precise, secure fit that stays put in wind, and the raised walls channel water away from the tent floor instead of letting it seep underneath.
