Quick answer
Store the six Command Decks upright in the original display tray, add a desiccant pack, and keep the box away from heat and sunlight. If cards start bending or the tray loosens, move each deck into a labeled deck box and use the display for shelf storage only.
Why the display tray is not a long-term home
The Pact Display of 6 is designed for retail presentation, not archival storage. The tray holds six Command Decks, but repeated opening and closing can loosen the card wells, and the cardboard edges wear faster than a dedicated deck box. If you plan to play regularly, treat the display as a shelf piece and give the cards their own protective homes.
When to keep the display and when to switch
Keep the display if you mostly store the decks and rarely transport them. Switch to individual deck boxes if you travel to game nights, if the tray no longer holds cards snugly, or if you notice corner wear on the cards. The display still works as a visual organizer on a shelf, but it should not be the only protection for cards you play with often.
Storage problem diagnosis
- Cards are bending or warping: Likely cause: humidity or stacking heavy objects on the display. Move the display to a dry, stable shelf, add a silica gel pack inside the box, and store decks upright rather than stacked flat. If cards remain warped after a week in a dry environment, replace the affected deck rather than trying to flatten it.
- Cards slide out of the tray wells: Likely cause: the cardboard wells have stretched from repeated use. Cut thin foam or felt strips to line each well, or move each deck into a snug deck box. If the wells no longer grip even with padding, stop using the display for play and switch to deck boxes.
- Display box corners are splitting: Likely cause: frequent opening and handling. Reinforce the corners with clear tape or store the display inside a larger storage bin to reduce direct handling. If the box structure fails, the cards are still fine—move them to deck boxes and keep the display as a decorative shelf item only.
- You keep losing track of which deck is which: Likely cause: the display does not label individual decks. Add small labels to the inside of each well or use color-coded deck boxes for each Command Deck. If you often mix up decks, store each one in its own labeled box and keep the display for empty storage.
Product facts
-
Star Realms Command Deck: The Pact Display of 6: The Pact Display of 6 contains six 18-card Command Decks, including a Legendary Commander card and a 12-card custom personal deck. Because each deck is small, a single lost or bent card can break a deck, so keep each 18-card set together and check the count after every session.
