Quick answer

Keep your Four Kicks Mule Kick LE 2019 at 65–70% RH and 65–70°F in a seasoned humidor to maintain its full-strength, pepper-forward character. Avoid high humidity to prevent mold and loss of complexity.

Why limited edition cigars need special care

Limited editions like the Four Kicks Mule Kick LE 2019 are made in a single year and often use unique blends that may not be reproduced. The Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper and Nicaraguan filler give this cigar a distinct peppery, toasty profile that can fade or become harsh if stored improperly.

Steps to store your Four Kicks Mule Kick LE 2019

  1. Season your humidor properly: Before placing your limited edition cigars, ensure your humidor is seasoned to 70% RH. Use a Boveda seasoning kit or distilled water. A dry humidor will suck moisture from the cigars, cracking the wrapper. Check humidity with a calibrated hygrometer before adding cigars.
  2. Set the ideal environment: Aim for 65–68% RH and 65–70°F. The Four Kicks Mule Kick's Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper is delicate; high humidity above 72% can cause mold or cause the wrapper to split. Low humidity below 60% dries out the tobacco, muting the pepper and toast notes. Avoid storing near windows, heaters, or air vents.
  3. Store in the original box or a separate section: Keep the box of 10 in your humidor away from stronger, more humid cigars. The cedar box helps buffer humidity and preserves the limited edition's integrity. Do not stack other boxes on top of it. Label the box with the purchase date for rotation.
  4. Monitor and rotate monthly: Check the humidity level every two weeks and rotate the box to ensure even airflow. Limited editions benefit from gentle aging but over-aging can diminish the pepper punch. Smoke one every 6–12 months to track development. Set a calendar reminder to inspect for mold or beetle damage.
