Quick answer

Storm Forged dice are unique for RPGs because they combine solid zinc-alloy metal construction with original themed artwork, custom fonts, and lore that ties each set to a specific character or campaign vibe.

Why the collaboration matters

Storm Forged dice are a direct collaboration between Die Hard Dice and actor Jake Stormoen, known for his role in the actual-play series *The Adventure Zone*. Each set reflects a character or story concept from that world, giving your dice table a narrative anchor that mass-produced sets can't match.

Custom font and bordered design

Unlike generic dice, Storm Forged sets use a font created from scratch. The Unearthed Sage set, for example, features a unique bordered design and numbers that feel handcrafted. This makes them easier to read at a glance during fast-paced combat, while also adding a premium look.

Weight and feel matter for play

All Storm Forged dice are die-cast from non-toxic zinc alloy, giving them an authoritative heft that plastic dice lack. That weight can make rolls feel more deliberate and satisfying, though it also means they're louder on hard surfaces and may require a dice tray to protect your table.

How to choose your Storm Forged set

  • Match the theme to your character: Each set has its own lore and color story. Gilded Ruin fits a treasure-hunting rogue or a paladin seeking lost relics. Unearthed Sage suits a wizard, druid, or scholar who uncovers hidden knowledge.
  • Check the d20 design: Some Storm Forged d20s have a sunken dragon logo on the 20 face (like Gilded Ruin), while others use a different motif. If the high-roll face matters to you, check the product photos before buying. Look for the d20 face image in the listing to see if it matches your preference.
  • Consider your rolling surface: Metal dice are heavy and can dent soft wood or scratch glass. Always use a dice tray or rolling mat with Storm Forged sets to preserve both your dice and your table. Add a dice tray to your order if you don't already own one.
