Quick answer
The Lockdown Sessions Purple Cassette is a limited-edition colored cassette featuring 7 standout collaborations from the album, including Cold Heart (PNAU Remix) with Dua Lipa and The Pink Phantom with Gorillaz. It comes in a standard cassette box with a 6-flap inlay.
Why choose the cassette over other formats
Cassettes offer a warm, nostalgic listening experience that many fans appreciate for its distinct analog character. This purple edition also adds visual appeal to a collection, especially if you enjoy colored tape variants.
However, cassettes lack the audio fidelity of vinyl or CD, and the tracklist here is a curated selection rather than the full Lockdown Sessions album. If you want every song from the record, the digital or CD version is a better choice.
Packaging and presentation
The cassette is housed in a standard box with a 6-flap inlay, which provides space for the tracklist and artwork. The transparent purple shell is the main visual draw, giving the release a distinctive look compared to standard black cassettes.
How to decide if this cassette is right for you
- Tracklist length: This cassette includes 7 tracks, not the full Lockdown Sessions album. Check if your favorite collaborations are on the list before buying.
- Format preference: If you value portability and retro charm, cassettes are a fun collectible. If audio quality is your priority, consider vinyl or digital.
- Collector appeal: The transparent purple shell is a limited color variant that stands out in a tape collection. It's ideal for fans who enjoy physical music memorabilia. If you already own the album on another format, this cassette still offers unique visual value.
