Quick answer
The Official Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Quarter Size Arcade Cabinet is a detailed replica of the classic 1989 arcade game, and currently comes with a free stool, making it a practical choice for collectors who want an authentic playable display without the full-size footprint.
Why the quarter scale matters
A quarter-size cabinet is roughly 18-20 inches tall, which is small enough to sit on a desk, shelf, or countertop. It saves significant floor space compared to a full-size arcade machine, but still delivers the same gameplay experience using the original ROM. The trade-off is that you play while seated or standing at a low surface, not standing upright like in an arcade.
The free stool bonus
The included free stool is a practical addition because the cabinet is low to the ground. Without it, you might need to crouch or place the cabinet on a tall table. The stool matches the cabinet's aesthetic and makes extended play sessions more comfortable. Keep in mind that the stool is a separate item, so you'll have two boxes at delivery.
Decision rules
- Space check: Measure your available surface. The cabinet is about 20 inches tall and 10 inches wide. It needs a sturdy table or desk, not just a shelf. If you don't have a flat surface at least 24 inches wide and 18 inches deep, reconsider.
- Gameplay expectations: This is the original 1989 Konami arcade game, not an emulation hack. It plays exactly like the coin-op version, including the four-player mode if you connect additional controllers (not included).
- Collector vs. player: If you want a display piece that also works as a game, this is ideal. If you primarily want a full-size arcade experience or a modern console port, look elsewhere. The quarter scale is a display-first item that happens to be playable.
