Quick answer
To upgrade your Trudvang Legends game with the Plastic Runes Pack, replace the cardboard rune tokens with the 100 plastic runes, sort them by design, and use them in place of the originals during setup and play.
Why plastic runes improve your game
The Plastic Runes Pack replaces the standard cardboard tokens with 100 plastic runes in six distinct designs. The tactile feel and durability of plastic make them easier to pick up, stack, and read across the table, which is especially helpful during longer sessions.
Because the pack is a Kickstarter exclusive, it's not available in regular retail. If you missed the campaign, you can still find it through The Game Steward, but note that it requires the base Trudvang Legends game to be useful.
How to set up and use the Plastic Runes Pack
- Unbox and sort the runes: Open the pack and separate the 100 plastic runes into piles by the six different designs. Check that you have the expected count for each design (the pack is complete, but it's a good habit to verify). Common mistake: mixing designs during sorting can slow down setup later.
- Replace the cardboard tokens: During game setup, swap out the cardboard rune tokens that come with Trudvang Legends for the matching plastic runes. Use the same number and types as the scenario or rules call for. Checkpoint: confirm the plastic runes match the required rune types before starting play.
- Use the runes during play: When the game instructs you to draw, discard, or spend runes, use the plastic runes exactly as you would the cardboard ones. Their shape and weight make them easier to handle, but the game rules remain unchanged. Common mistake: don't add extra runes just because you have more—stick to the game's limits.
