Quick answer

Choose the Luxury Velour Quilted Deluxe Cocoon Round Blanket if you want a colour-matched quilted mat with more styling options; choose the Luxury Grey Teddy Fur Deluxe Cocoon Round Blanket if you prefer a soft, weighty teddy-fur surface and a single neutral grey look.

Surface feel: quilted velour versus teddy fur

Both blankets are described as soft but weighty, so the main difference is the surface. The velour option is quilted, which gives it a structured, stitched look. The teddy fur option has a plush, textured pile in grey.

If your dog tends to scratch or dig at bedding, the quilted velour may show less surface disturbance than a piled teddy fur. If your dog likes to nuzzle into a fluffy surface, the teddy fur is the more obvious choice. Neither blanket is described as waterproof, so treat both as comfort layers rather than accident protection.

Colour and size choices

The velour blanket is available in both size and colour options, so you can coordinate it with your room or your dog's cocoon bed. The teddy fur blanket is offered in sizes only and comes in grey.

Both blankets are made in four sizes designed to fit the deluxe Cocoon dog beds. That means the size decision is the same for either material: match the blanket to your existing bed rather than guessing from the dog's weight alone.

Cleaning and bed protection

Both blankets are positioned as removable mats that keep the bed clean and extend the time between full bed-cover washes. A spare blanket in the other material is a practical way to rotate while one is being cleaned.

The catalog does not state specific washing temperatures or drying instructions for either blanket, so check the care label on the blanket you receive before washing. In general, a second blanket reduces the pressure to wash and dry one mat quickly.

Trade-offs to weigh before you choose

  • Texture versus tidiness: Teddy fur gives a deeper, fluffier surface, while quilted velour has a flatter stitched face. If your dog digs or nests aggressively, the quilted face may be easier to keep looking neat; if your dog loves to burrow into pile, teddy fur is the closer match. Watch how your dog treats its current bedding before deciding.
  • Colour flexibility versus simplicity: The velour blanket offers colour options, so it can blend with a room scheme or help you tell two cocoon beds apart. The teddy fur blanket is grey only, which is simpler to replace but less adaptable to a colour-matched setup. If you have two dogs or a visible living-room bed, colour choice may matter more than pile depth.
  • Same sizing, different surface: Both blankets come in four sizes made for the deluxe Cocoon beds, so measure your bed's inner mat area and order the matching size in either material. Do not size up for extra fluffiness, because an oversized mat will bunch at the round edges. Order the size that matches your existing cocoon bed, not the next size up.
