Quick answer

Choose the Villiger Americanos Brasil if you prefer a richer, earthier smoke; go with the Sumatra if you want a milder, slightly sweeter cigarillo.

What sets these two apart

Both the Brasil and Sumatra versions share the same dimensions — 8.10 cm long with a 0.81 cm diameter — and neither has a filter or added aromas. The key difference lies in the wrapper leaf. The Villiger Americanos Brasil uses a Brazilian wrapper, which tends to deliver a fuller, more robust character. The Sumatra version uses a Sumatra wrapper, known for a smoother, slightly sweet profile. Since the filler and binder are consistent across both, the wrapper is the main factor influencing your smoking experience.

Practical considerations

Both are sold in a 20-pack carton containing individual 5-packs, making them convenient for on-the-go use. The Brasil is priced slightly higher at $5.33 per carton compared to $5.18 for the Sumatra, reflecting the wrapper leaf sourcing. Neither has a filter, so expect a direct draw and a stronger nicotine hit than filtered cigarillos.

Trade-offs at a glance

  • Flavor profile: Brasil: earthy, robust, fuller body. Sumatra: mild, slightly sweet, smoother finish.
  • Wrapper influence: Brasil uses a Brazilian wrapper; Sumatra uses a Sumatra wrapper. This is the primary flavor differentiator.
  • Price per carton (20 packs): Brasil: $5.33 (catalog price). Sumatra: $5.18 (catalog price). A small difference that reflects wrapper sourcing. The price gap is minimal, so choose based on taste rather than cost.
  • Format and dimensions: Both are 8.10 cm long, 0.81 cm diameter, no filter, no aromas. Sold in cartons of 20 packs of 5 cigarillos each. Identical physical specs mean your choice comes down to wrapper flavor.
