Quick answer
To keep your Warhammer pendant in top condition, gently wipe it with a soft, dry cloth after each wear and store it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
Why regular care matters
Your Warhammer 40K pendant, like the Starstele of Dominion Necrons Pendant, is a detailed piece of jewellery that can tarnish or scratch if not handled properly. Dust, sweat, and moisture are the main enemies of its finish. A few minutes of care after each use will preserve its appearance for years.
Note that preorder items like the Starstele of Dominion ship from the UK, and any non-preorder items in the same order ship separately. This means you may receive your pendant at a different time, so plan your care routine accordingly.
Common issues and trade-offs
Tarnishing is the most common problem with metal jewellery. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cloths, as they can remove the finish. Instead, stick to a microfiber cloth and mild soapy water if needed. Also, be aware that prolonged exposure to water (like wearing it in the shower) can accelerate wear, so remove your pendant before swimming or bathing.
Diagnosis: Spot and fix common pendant issues
- Symptom: Dull or cloudy finish on the pendant surface.
- Likely cause: Build-up of oils, dirt, or tarnish from daily wear or improper storage.
- Corrective action: Gently buff the pendant with a dry microfiber cloth. For stubborn spots, lightly dampen the cloth with water and a drop of mild dish soap, then wipe and dry immediately. Do not use jewelry polish or abrasive cleaners. If tarnish persists, stop cleaning and consult a professional jeweler.
- Stop or choose another option: If the pendant has visible scratches or the finish is peeling, professional repair may be needed. Do not attempt to repaint or coat the pendant yourself. Consider contacting the official Warhammer Merchandise Store for guidance.
