Quick Answer
The Malifaux Third Edition Abra-cadaver Keyword Box adds Ezekiel and five Mindless Zombies to your Resurrectionist collection. It is a Versatile box, meaning it works with any Resurrectionist Master, but it shines in crews that can use cheap, expendable models to scheme or screen.
Why Versatile Matters for Your Crew
Unlike keyword-locked boxes, the Abra-cadaver box fits into any Resurrectionist faction crew. That flexibility makes it a useful pickup if you play multiple Masters or want a toolbox that works across different lists.
The trade-off is that Versatile models do not benefit from keyword-specific synergies. You lose some efficiency compared to in-keyword choices, but you gain adaptability.
What You Get in the Box
The box contains Ezekiel, a new Resurrectionist model, and five Mindless Zombies. All miniatures are 32mm heroic scale, unpainted, and require assembly. The Mindless Zombies are identical models that serve as expendable minions.
Ezekiel is the centerpiece, bringing support and summoning potential. The five Mindless Zombies provide cheap activations and board presence, but they are fragile and will not win fights on their own.
Decision Rules for Buying the Abra-cadaver Box
- You play multiple Resurrectionist Masters: This Versatile box works with any Master, so it is a safe investment if you switch between crews.
- You need cheap activations: Mindless Zombies are among the cheapest models in the game. Use them to pad your activation count, screen key models, or hold table quarters. Plan to deploy them early and sacrifice them for objectives.
- You want a summoner without keyword restrictions: Ezekiel can create more Zombies during the game. This gives you a growing force without needing a dedicated keyword engine. Expect to manage Zombie placement carefully to protect Ezekiel.
- You already own a Resurrectionist core box: This box expands your options without overlapping with keyword-specific models. It adds variety to your collection.
- You prefer fully assembled miniatures: All models require preparation and assembly. If you dislike building models, factor in that extra time.
